Following the disruption in January, by comparison, February has seemed more like a normal month.

The last of a series of Career Development Workshops was delivered for one of the UK's largest engineering and manufacturing companies. This two day workshop was for graduates who are near the end of their initial development and are seeking guidance regarding their future careers.

Prior to the workshop the graduates undertake a number of assessment exercises including a 360 feedback process to gain an understanding of their strengths / weaknesses and how they have developed during the graduate programme. During the workshop, input is provided to help the graduates to understand the information gathered and how to use the information to plan their career path and future development.

As a result of the workshop each graduate had a set of tools to help them network with colleagues and mentors, improve their personal impact and produce a personal development plan.

Other assignments in February include:

• The third day of a Management Fundamentals programme was delivered to the UK's largest charity. This day was delivered six weeks after the initial two days of the programme to share practical experience of using the tools discussed in the previous session.
• A number of one-2-one Coaching sessions were delivered to a manager at a large legal practice and a junior manager at a local authority.
• The continued roll out of a seven module Management Development Programme continued this month. The programme, for a UK government agency, uses a blend of classroom training and distance-learning tools that will lead to an ILM accredited certificate.
• A highly interactive, practical Presentation Skills course was delivered for a group of graduate engineers working for a large engineering consultancy. In addition to traditional presentation techniques the trainer was able to share his experience as a professional singer in areas such as control of voice and breathing techniques. Each delegate gave a presentation to an audience of senior managers at the end of the course.
• A one day Mentoring workshop was delivered to potential mentors at one of the UK's largest engineering and manufacturing companies.
• A one day Interview Skills course was delivered to members of the graduate development programme at a large English County Council. This course was highly practical using video analysis of skills practice sessions.
