April Assignments
With all the major political parties saying that Britain has to start making things again, it is reassuring to know that manufacturers and engineering companies continue to invest in training.
Fifteen apprentices from one of the UK's largest manufacturing and engineering companies attended Lifeskills 2 as a part of their award winning apprenticeship scheme. The week long residential programme provided a rich mix of learning and practical tasks including the execution of a community project.
An international engineering consultancy ran two development courses. These were Report Writing and Communications & Negotiation.
Other assignments in April include:
- Another cohort started a Management Fundamentals programme at the UK's largest charity. A previous cohort undertook a third day to share their experience of implementing what they had learned to date and to receive additional input including coaching practice.
- A one day Improving Personal Effectiveness and Impact course was delivered to a group of graduate, management trainees at a large English County Council. This course combines elements of time mamagement, assertiveness and how attidudes affect behaviour and personal impact.
- More one-2-one Coaching sessions were delivered to a junior manager at a local authority.
- A Senior Management Team development workshop was facilitated for a group of managers at a large UK charity. This was to help the team to work together more effectively to build upon the successes achieved to date.
- The roll out of a seven module Management Development Programme continued this month. The programme, for a UK government agency, uses a blend of classroom training and self directed learning that will lead to an ILM accredited certificate. Twenty cohorts of managers will undertake this programme and receive 360 Feedback as a part of the process.
