May Assignments

It is hard to believe that it is only a month since the election.

While governments change, businesses continue to invest in training at all levels. This month there was a senior management workshop for an international, engineering and construction company specialising in the offshore oil and gas industry.

There was also some 1-2-1 coaching with an executive director of a government department.

Other assignments in May include:

  • An international engineering consultancy ran an Advanced Presentation Skills course for managers. As well as the usual techniques for planning, designing and delivering high impact presentations there was also input from a professional voice coach.

  • Planning took place for an Interaction Event. This is a week long event for new starters at one of the UK's largest engineering and manufacturing companies. The Interaction event involves all new starters in the company including apprentices, graduate and non graduate trainees. Between fifty and eighty individuals will attend the event. This year there will be more use of interactive media during the training elements of the event.

  • A one day Appraisal Training course was delivered to a group of managers at a large UK port authority.

  • The roll out of a seven module Management Development Programme continued this month. The programme, for a UK government agency, uses a blend of classroom training and self directed learning that will lead to an ILM accredited certificate. Twenty cohorts of managers will undertake this programme and receive 360 Feedback as a part of the process.
