The senior management team of an oil and gas service supplier undertook a three day team development exercise.
The team had undergone a number of changes due to staff changes and business expansion.
The agreed objectives for the event were to:
- Achieve a strong sense of unity through a shared experience
- Explore their respective strengths and weaknesses
- Develop a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives
- Understand how they can work together in a way that is sustainable
The above objectives were be realised through a challenging, experiential development programme that took the participants out of their comfort zone.
Following a briefing on land the team took to the water, crewing a sixty foot clipper around the Solent. The team was given a set of challenges which forced them to work together in an unfamiliar environment.
The clipper spent two days at sea with a debriefing session back on land. The event was extremely well received and each manager left with a better understanding of the team's dynamics and of each other.
