This programme was delivered to a cohort of project leaders that work for a large manufacturing and engineering consultancy.
The programme was delivered over two days with minimal PowerPoint (as requested by the delegates).
The objectives of the programme were to create managers who can:
- Use communication skills effectively in a variety of situations
- Analyse and understand their own leadership style and skills
- Apply a leadership style that is appropriate to the characteristics of the teams they manage
- Use leadership techniques that will develop employees to reach their full potential
The first day of the programme focused on:
- Analysis of leadership styles and skills
- Leadership within the organisation’s environment
- Characteristics of the best leaders
- Transactional versus transformational leadership
- Leading meetings
The second day explored:
- Managing challenging behaviour
- The power of networks and systems
- Eliciting and responding to feedback
- Personal communication style
- Creating vision and direction
- Developing leadership resonance
