Congratulations to Team MBDA, a team of eight apprentices from one of the UK's largest engineering and manufacturing companies who came second in the Brathay Apprentice Challenge. The team was in competition with seven other teams to demonstrate that they are one of the best teams of apprentices in the UK.

Later in the month some of the team joined their colleagues to undertake a week long residential programme called Lifeskills II. Fifteen apprentices received input on a variety of subjects which led into a commuity project that they executed to support a local charity.

Other assignments in March included:

• A leadership programme was designed and delivered to the senior team responsible for fundraising at the UK's largest charity.
• The final module was delivered to a cohort of managers at the largest independent training company in Wales as a part of their comprehensive Management Development ProgrammeManagement Development Programme.
• A new two day programme was designed and delivered to lead engineers working on large-scale projects. The programme focused on accountability, effective delegation and holding team members to delivering on promises made.
• Advanced Presentation Skills training and skills practice was given to graduate trainees at an international, engineering consultancy.

The Development Company UK Limited provides training courses across the UK to organisations in the Public, Private and Not For Profit Sectors.

The principals of the company believe that training should make a difference and where appropriate change behaviour. The ethos is, therefore, to design courses that are engaging, relevant and deliver specific outcomes.

To achieve the desired outcome the company draws upon a library of tried and tested course materials.

The materials are combined to deliver three types of training. These are:

• Core Skills Training which applies to any individual regardless of role and grade within the organisation.
   
• Management Skills Training which applies to those with management responsibility for others or who have to achieve through others.
   
• Subject Specific Skills Training which addresses specialist areas.
